France's Jean-Luc Ponty is a prolific recording artist, composer and bandleader. He pioneered the electric violin in jazz-rock in the 1970s, creating a distinctive sonic fusion that graced iconic albums by Frank Zappa, Mahavishnu Orchestra, and others. Between 1975 and 1995, he released 15 consecutive top five albums.

Music For Electric Violin And Low Budget Orchestra May 1, 2011 · Jean Luc Ponty plays Frank Zappa tunes with the Mothers of Invention. The jazz performances are bold and solid on some tracks and gently touching on others. Hearing "Idiot Bastard Son" and "Twenty Small Cigars" again brought me to tears. Some of the tunes will be familiar to FZ/Mothers fans.
What follows is a wonderful solo improvisation between keyboard and violin with dynamic bass lines and drum beats. This part is probably the most exciting part of any Jean Luc Ponty's music that I also find with other album like "Enigmatic Ocean". "I Only Feel Good With You" (3:05) is a beautiful mellow music exploring keyboard and violin.
